Simon Thorpe is a qualified Chartered Accountant with a 25 year city career in and 15 years of Angel Investing experience. He has worked in equity research, sales and capital markets with major institutional investors and corporates across all sectors.
He is a member of Cambridge Angels, Manchester Angels and Angel Academe (a predominately female network).
He is a Non-Executive Director at Inngot; providing online tools for businesses & entrepreneurs to identify, value and raise finance against the value of IP, a Non-Executive Director at UB.io; a robotic processing automation (RPA) software company. He is a Non-Executive Director to the University of Manchester Innovation Factory; the technology transfer office commercialising the University's innovations and IP. Simon is also a Non-Executive at Albion VC's KAY VCT, he chairs the Investment Committee of Salica Investments Venture debt fund and he is a Director at Rockspring Nominees.
He is an active angel investor in UK companies with a focus on the technology and technology enabled heathcare. His current portfolio consists of thirty-three companies and to date he has achieved ten successful exits. He is known for supporting the #digitaleconomy and #womeninbiz (with a third of his portfolio consisting of female founded/run businesses).
Simon was voted UKBAA’s Angel Investor of the Year 2016/2017 and is a Fellow of Entrepreneurship at the Cambridge Judge Business School (CJBS).
He is an active promoter of the digital economy. “The digital revolution is the new industrial revolution”.
Simon is a keen sports/outdoor enthusiast and a self-professed electric/petrol head which features regularly in his travels with his wife and four children. When not in four wheels you will find him on two as a keen cyclist; having completed several charity rides in the UK and abroad.
Natasha Evans has over 10 years of city experience. She has worked in eurobonds, equities, securities and emerging markets settlements as well as middle office services and fund linked operations within several major investment banks.
She founded e-commerce site The Littlepaintpad Company back in 2002 whilst raising a young family, designing and making unique handmade gifts that have been sold worldwide.
Natasha joined Delta2020 in 2014 to help with all the company's administration and accounting needs, managing all social media aspects as well as organising Simon's ever busy diary. She coordinates and helps facilitate Delta2020's student work experience placements from local Schools. Natasha assists with technology research having immersed herself into learning about "the digital revolution" and Cryptocurrencies, she also occasionally writes articles on tech related themes.
When not in the office, you will find her working as an Online Fitness Coach and qualified Personal Trainer, hosting The Planted Mindset Podcast (discussing fitness, mindset and nutrition topics with special guests), at the gym or pounding the streets; having completed six half marathons since 2017 for charity in addition to the London Marathon in April 2019 (sub 4:30hrs) and the Milton Keynes Marathon eight days later (only 10 mins slower!)
This makes up for her love of food and desire to experiment in the kitchen which her husband and two boys are subjected to, as well as having to listen to her learning to play the guitar!
James has 4 years Angel Investment industry experience, having worked for Cambridge Capital Group and Newable Private Investing’s Seed Fund alongside Delta2020. He is also the co-founder of a Proptech startup, AskWinston.
He joined Delta2020 in 2015 to help with the research and analysis of early-stage companies. He also researches technology trends and produces articles for the Delta2020 blog on emerging topics. James can regularly be found at startup events looking for interesting companies and discussing new developments in the UK technology ecosystem.
James is also an aspiring entrepreneur, past ventures include the production of marshmallows, a technology newsletter, and a cryptocurrency scanner. He is currently building AskWinston, who provide 5-star hotel amenities to apartment buildings solving the last-inch hurdle.
He enjoys travelling, following the NBA, attending live jazz bands and plays when he gets the opportunity.
